HANNAH MACDOUGALL Swimming pool

Dr Hannah Macdougall did her entire schooling at Korowa and graduated in 2005. Dr Macdougall was born with a disability, but this has never held her back and she credits Korowa with encouraging her to fulfil her academic and sporting ambitions.

Dr Macdougall’s story of courage, resilience and determination is inspirational and it is fitting to name the swimming pool – the Hannah Macdougall Swimming Pool.

Korowa Aquatics is based in the new State-Of-The-Art Sports and Wellbeing Centre with 8 lane 25 meter pool which forms part of the Korowa Anglican Girls’ School.

Depth &Temperature

The shallow end is a depth of 1.0 metres allowing our school age students the ability to stand, while the deep end is 2.0 metres making it effective for diving of all ages.

The pool is 30 degrees Monday to Friday and 32 degrees on weekends.

Platforms

We use platforms in our lessons for safety and efficiency.

For entering and exiting the pool there are steps in lane 1 and 8.

Reception & Change Rooms

Our reception is clean and accessible upon entering the centre.

We have male, female and disability change rooms. Showers and lockers are available in both male and female change rooms.

Mezzanine Seating

Our mezzanine seating allows spectators to have plenty of space to watch lessons and prepare students for their turn in the water. The additional space off pool deck allows customers to keep bags and belongings dry and safe.

Starting Blocks

8 starting blocks with non slip tops and adjustable kicker. Diving is to be undertaken from the deep end only and under teacher supervision.
